Classical Music Classes With Legacy of 60 Years .
Pt. Shripad Shastri was a famous Indian Classical Vocalist from khandesh and a founder of Sursingar Sangeet Vidyalaya. He established this vidyalaya at Dhule and Nandurbar 60 years ago. He was a discipal of "Aftab-e-Mausiqi Ustad Faiyaz Khan Saheb" belonging to Aagra Gharana. Ustad Faiyaz Khan Saheb was the Raj Gayak in Maharaja Sayajirao’s court at Badoda, Gujarath. Pt. Shripad Shastri was a recognized ‘A’ grade artist of Mumbai - Pune - Nagpur All India Radio.
After Shastri Buwa, his ‘Sangeet Alankar’ daughter Mrs. Nalini Roakde became the Director of Sursingar Sangeet Vidyalaya. . The musical seed sown by the father has now bloomed into a big tree. To date, more than 200 students have graduated (Sangeet Visharada) from Sursingar
Along with Nalini Rokade, her husband Mr. Govind Rokade, son Mr. Sarang Rokade (Gayan and Tabla Visharada) and daughter-in-law Mrs. Deepali Rokade’s (Sangeet Visharada) music guidance is also benefiting Sursingar at present. Also daughter Mrs. Dhanashree Gandekar (Sangeet Alankar) started a branch of Sursingar at Bangalore a few years back.
Mrs. Nalini Rokade’s granddaughter, Miss. Shalaka Rokade has completed her MSc in Microbiology as well as Sangeet Visharada and M.A. Music from SNDT, Pune with distinction. She is groomed by her grandmother. She has also been guided by singers like Anuradha Marathe and Ashwini Gokhale. She is currently pursuing her further musical education from her guru Dr. Rewa Natu. Shalaka Rokade is known as an emerging Hindustani Classical Vocalist. Currently, she has started another branch of Sursingar in Karve Nagar, Pune. Four generations of Sursingar family are promoting and disseminating music.
Features
Sursingar Sangeet Vidyalaya offers regular as well as online Hindustani classical and Light music learning classes. It includes basic and advanced training of classical music, Bhajan, Bhavgeet, Bhaktigeet, Maharashtra Folk songs, Gaulani (गौळणी), Patriotic songs (देशभक्तीपर गीते), Balgeet (बालगीते), Natyageet and Semi classical film music.
